What's the point of Master Levels?

As the title says: What is the point of getting Master Levels if we can reset characters at level 400? Do we get to keep ML points after doing resets?

Master levels are basically for master points (Master skill tree and Majestic skill tree), you can upgrade your skills and such. You keep master level after reset, also when you have max master level you can do Hero reset (Rising hero).
